Kay Slice Announces Highlife-Hip-Hop Album
Kay Slice's Take U Highlife arrives October 23, 2026, bringing a collaboration between the Rotterdam artist and co-producer Anton de Bruin (Dragonfruit, Peter Somuah), created alongside his Ghanaian ensemble.
The twelve-track album features collaborations with highlife icons Gyedu-Blay Ambolley on Adwuma and Pat Thomas on Kwame Nkrumah, alongside Jembaa Groove, MiDi KwaKwa and RnB Princess. Rather than nostalgia, the album is rooted in Ghanaian highlife but explores movement between countries, generations, musical traditions and identities.
Born in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, Kay Slice absorbed both his heritage and the hip-hop culture of his generation, positioning his music naturally in that space between inherited tradition and lived experience. He performs at Paradiso Amsterdam on November 7, 2026.
Take U Highlife releases October 23 via Agogo Records.
