About
Music that lifts on the open Amsterdam vibe
We are rooted and located in the heart of Amsterdam: one of the epic centers of jazz worldwide.
Following the Second World War, the Nieuwmarkt and Zeedijk were filled with sailors, dock workers, artists and students. The nearby harbor brought American and British ships—and with them jazz records and musicians.

Over 2000 unique songs featured by some 1100 artists. Easy listening — a true tribute to Amsterdam and its jazz roots.
We’ve given jazz a new jacket: drawing more on recent influences from Afrobeat, hip-hop, funk and soul. Where Fela Kuti meets Burna Boy. Amp Fiddler joins d’Angelo. NYVE back-to-back with Brooklyn Funk Essentials. And Ezra Collective blends in with Ayo.
This is where we host a fully equipped radio/multi-media studio, open for broadcasters and broadcasting. A young urban setting displays the possibilities for new ways to approach jazz. Blending in swiftly with the unique Zeedijk atmosphere and easy to the ear.

Red Light Jazz Radio is powered by Studio Zeedijk Foundation, to empower the creativity and attractiveness of the oldest part of our beautiful Amsterdam.
You can listen online, browse artist bios and follow updates about live sessions — and request your favorite track whenever you like.
We are interested in your contributions, participation and donations too.
