Jon Batiste Joins Perlman on Gershwin

Itzhak Perlman has revisited "Summertime" with Jon Batiste, offering a first glimpse into The Way We Were: My American Songbook, Perlman's long-awaited return to the studio. The pairing makes sense: both musicians share an ability to move fluidly across idioms without losing their centre of gravity.

Batiste, fresh from releasing three solo piano albums in August, continues his exploration of American musical tradition. The forthcoming collection brings Perlman's lyrical violin style to beloved songs while opening the door to an exciting range of guest performances.

The Way We Were: My American Songbook will be available October 30 from Green Hill Music.
