Busta Rhymes Unveils J Dilla Vault

Busta Rhymes and J Dilla's collaborative album DILLAGENCE II arrived on August 25, 2026, nearly two decades after their first Dillagence mixtape. Busta had been sitting on over 300 unreleased Dilla beats since the producer's death in 2006, kept private all these years.

The 19-track project pulls sparingly from that archive with measured reverence. Guest spots include D'Angelo, Big Sean, Anderson .Paak, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Common, Jon Batiste, and Talib Kweli—mostly artists who worked with Dilla during his lifetime. Ma Dukes herself appears on the intro and outro, lending the album her blessing.

Early reviews suggest this isn't a nostalgia grab but "pure, unfiltered Hip-hop," with both icons leaving their mark. The production feels like a conversation that refused to end, even after twenty years of silence.

DILLAGENCE II is out now via The Conglomerate.
