Davis-Coltrane Box Set Returns for Centennial

Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings are reissuing the Grammy-winning Miles Davis & John Coltrane – The Complete Columbia Recordings 1955-1961 this November, marking the centennial year of both musicians' births.

The 58-track collection spans landmark albums including Kind of Blue, 'Round About Midnight, and Milestones, alongside collaborations from Miles and Monk at Newport and other sessions. The original 2000 release won two Grammys for Best Box Set and Best Liner Notes, and was previously available on vinyl only through a super-limited Mosaic Records edition.

The new 9-LP edition features Mark Wilder's remastered audio cut directly from analog tapes by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound. It includes a 60-page book with rare photography, essays by original producer George Avakian and drummer Jimmy Cobb, and the original Kind of Blue liner notes by Bill Evans.

Available for pre-order now in 9xLP and 6xCD configurations. Release date: November 6, 2026.
