Thakzin and Thatohatsi Unite on Mele Bakuzwe

Thakzin, the originator of 3Step, and Thatohatsi have released "Mele Bakuzwe," a new single rooted in legacy and the sacred act of being witnessed. The record brings together Thakzin's textured, ancestrally rooted production and Thatohatsi's commanding vocal presence.

At its heart, "Mele Bakuzwe" carries the voice of a parent speaking life over their child—a message of blessing and recognition that they come from royalty, and must shine so brightly that the world can no longer look away. It's the kind of collaboration that feels deliberate, less about chart strategy than about two artists creating space for something ceremonial.

Thakzin's 3Step sound—a hybrid of Amapiano, deep house, and Afro-electronic rhythms—continues to carve its own lane within South Africa's crowded electronic landscape. Rather than a simple collaboration, "Mele Bakuzwe" feels like a meeting of spirit, sound, and intention.

Released June 2026.
