Rosie Turton Explores Synth Terrain as Nomieye

Rosie Turton

Rosie Turton

Rosie Turton has stepped outside her trombone work to release Tapestry of an Echo, the debut EP under her modular synthesizer alias Nomieye. The five-track project explores memory and place in relation to the natural world, inspired by a trip to Anza Borrego's slot canyons and rock formations.

Turton, a member of Nérija and collaborator with artists across London's jazz scene, has long been drawn to meditative soundscapes that echo Alice Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders. Here, she sculpts ambient terrain from layered synth melodies, field recordings, and subtle brass accents. The EP's atmospheric soundscapes feature lush synth-led melodies and subtle brass instrumentation meandering through ethereal ambience.

The release arrived July 10 via Bandcamp, with artwork featuring a risograph print from the desert trip that sparked the work.
