Skinny Hightower Releases Feels Like Destiny

Skinny Hightower released Feels Like Destiny on August 21 via CastOver Records, a ten-track album that finds the pianist and multi-instrumentalist pushing beyond the polished contours of contemporary jazz. Lead single "Hypnotic" showcases Hightower as a drummer first—an identity often obscured by his keyboard work—while drawing from the vocabularies of Steve Gadd and Billy Cobham.

After seven albums, he has demonstrated composing, arranging, performing and producing with uncommon independence. Paris-Move notes that "Deeper Than You Think" may signal Hightower is still exploring where his music can take him. The album arrives as his single "Red Lights" peaked at number two on the Smooth Jazz Airplay Billboard charts earlier this year.
