Nectar Woode Unveils Debut Mixtape *Naturally*
British-Ghanaian singer-songwriter Nectar Woode released her debut mixtape Naturally on June 26, marking a significant step in her rapid ascent through the UK's soul scene.
The nine-track project explores relationships, self-reflection and emotional growth, charting a gradual shift towards acceptance. Among its standout moments is a collaboration with Elton John on 'Wine into Water', the result of praise from the piano man who called her work "amazing" earlier this year.
The mixtape follows her single 'Lights Off,' which premiered as BBC Radio 1's Hottest Record in February. Woode's sound—neo-soul inflected with jazz, folk, and gospel—recalls the ease of Sade without imitation, her warm delivery earning comparisons to contemporaries like Olivia Dean while remaining distinctly her own.
To celebrate the release, Woode tours Australia for the first time this August, performing in Sydney on August 20 and Melbourne on August 21.
