Sting Returns to Amsterdam This August

Sting's musical The Last Ship returns to Amsterdam's Royal Theatre Carré from August 29 to September 13, following a sold-out initial run that premiered in January. The seventeen-time Grammy winner takes on the role of Jackie White, a shipyard foreman whose health is failing just as his leadership is needed most.

The work tells the story of a community fighting the decline of shipbuilding in Wallsend—Sting's hometown. It's a rare chance to see him not as a pop star but as actor and narrator in what he calls his most personal work to date.

The extended run begins August 29 at Royal Theatre Carré.
