Olive Jones Steps Up at Nice Jazz Fest
Gotts Street Park's scheduled performance at Nice Jazz Fest on July 23 was cancelled due to the artists' inability to reach France, prompting festival organizers to invite British soul singer Olive Jones to take over at the Théâtre de Verdure.
The Dorset-born artist arrives fresh from appearances at Montreux Jazz Festival and recent sold-out shows at venues including Bitterzoet in Amsterdam. Jones recently unveiled a new duet version of "Colour on the Wall" featuring Bombay Bicycle Club's Jack Steadman, adding to the momentum behind her debut album For Mary, produced with James Wyatt.
The substitution sees Jones—who has previously toured as featured vocalist with Gotts Street Park—occupy a slot on one of Europe's most storied festival stages, underscoring her rapid ascent within the contemporary soul circuit.
The performance takes place July 23, 10:30 PM at Théâtre de Verdure, Nice.
