Tanika Charles at Mission Folk Festival
Tanika Charles is performing this weekend at BC's Mission Folk Festival, running July 24-26 at Fraser River Heritage Park in Mission, BC. The three-time Juno nominee brings her candid, groove-heavy soul to a lineup that includes Blue Moon Marquee, LowDown Brass Band, and Alpha Yaya Diallo.
The appearance follows the May release of her fourth studio album Reasons to Stay, produced by Scott McCannell and mixed by Monophonics' Kelly Finnigan. The record is an unflinching look at family, self-love, and the weight of what we carry—Charles at her most intimate and unfussy.
For those in the Pacific Northwest: this is one of the rare chances to catch her live outside Toronto this summer.
